Indonesian Art and Culture 1989 (Traditional Wedding Dress III)

In the frame of introducing the Indonesian art and culture, the Directorate General of Posts and Telecommunications issues series of special stamps : Indonesian Art and Culture depicting the traditional wedding dress from several regions of Indonesia. In issues on 1989 featured traditional wedding dress from North Sumatera, South Sumatera, Jakarta, North Sulawesi, Central Sulawesi, and South Sulawesi.

Fauna 1989 - Orangutan (WWF series)

As part of an effort to preserve and save Orangutan (Pongo pygmaeus) - one of the disappearing wild animal in Indonesia - the Directorate General of Posts and Telecommunications, in cooperation with the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), issues on 6 March 1989 a set of special stamp series "Fauna 1989". Denomination of this series consists of Rp 75, Rp 100, Rp 140, and Rp 500.

Flora 1989 (Gigantic Flowers of Indonesia)

In the frame of introducing gigantic flowers Rafflesia sp and Amorphophallus titanum Becc., the Directorate General of Posts and Telecommunication issues a set of special stamp "Flora 1989" together with Souvenir Sheet and First Day Cover with the following data :
  1. Date of issue : 7 January 1989
  2. Denominations : Rp 200 describing the Rafflesia sp flower and Rp 1000 describing the Amorphophallus titanum Becc flower

Indonesian Art and Culture 1988 (Traditional Wedding Dress II)

In issues on 1988 featured traditional wedding dress from West Sumatera, Jambi, Bengkulu, Lampung, Maluku, and East Nusa Tenggara.

Fauna 1988 (Butterfly)

On 20 December 1988 the Directorate General of Posts and Telecommunications issues a set of special stamps depicting "Fauna 1988" with the following data :
  • Denominations : Rp 400 (Papilio gigon) and Rp 500 (Graphium androcles) both decribing the butterfly of Bantimurung, South Sulawesi
  • Size : 22.3 x 38.6 mm
  • Perforation : 13 ½ x 12 ¾

Indonesian Art and Culture 1987 (Traditional Wedding Dress I)

Among various aspects of art and culture in Indonesia there is a feature of traditional wedding dress which is different in each region. The Directorate General of Posts and Telecommunications in its 1987 issue of stamps on "Indonesian Art and Culture" has selected three traditional wedding dresses in East Timor, Aceh, and East Kalimantan respectively.
