The Wildlife 1983 series of stamps expose three kinds of Paradise Birds which lived in Irian Jaya, i.e. : Cenderawasih belah rotan Waigeo (Waigeo bird of paradise or Diphyllodes respublica), Cenderawasih paruh sabit hitam (Black sickle-billed bird of paradise or Epimachus fastosus), and Cenderawasih paruh sabit coklat (Black-billed Sicklebill or Drepanornis albertisi).
The date of issue of this "The Wildlife 1982" series is December 20, 1982. "The Wildlife 1982" series of stamps show three kinds of Paradise Birds, i.e : Cenderawasih Enam Panji (Lawe's Six-Wired Parotia or Parotia sefilata), Cenderawasih Duabelas Kawat (Twelve-Wired Bird of Paradise or Seleucides melanoleuca), and Cenderawasih Merah (Red Bird of Paradise or Paradisea rubra). This series is a continuation of "The Wildlife 1981" series.
The date of issue of this "The Wildlife 1981" series is 10 December 1981. Following the wildlife series issued in 1980, Psittacidae family, in this year issue represented by 3 kind of cockatoo : Rp 75 (Kakatua Putih Besar Jambul Jingga or Cacatua moluccensis), Rp 100 (Kakatua Putih Besar Jambul Kuning or Cacatua galerita galerita), and Rp 200 (Kakatua Raja or Probosciger aterrimus).
This Wildlife IV series issued on the 25th of November 1980. There are three denominations : Rp 75 (Nuri Elang or Psittrichas fulgidus), Rp 100 (Nuri Punggung Kuning or Lorius garulla), and Rp 200 (Nuri Dada Merah or Trichoglossus haematodus rubritorquis). In this series, the theme chosen was "Parrot (Psittacidae)".
