Love Flora and Fauna 1993 (Regional Identity I)

By the decision of the Minister of Home Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia number 46 of the year 1989 and followed by the letter of the aforementioned Minister dated June 2, 1990 number 522.51458.SJ concerning the determination of the Flora and Fauna as Regional Identity, commencing 1993 and each year to come, a series of stamps will be issued with the design of the Flora and Fauna as Regional Identity of each province.
To greet the Love National Flora and Fauna Day on November 5, 1993, the Directorate and General of Posts and Telecommunications issues series of special stamps, which design are Flora and Fauna as Regional Identity of Aceh and North Sumatera Provinces.

Jeumpa flowers (Michelia champaca)is floral identity of the Aceh Province. The origin of this plant is in India. This plant can grow at an altitude of 1500 m above sea level. Jeumpa flowers classified into shrubs, with a high of 3 to 6 m. The flowers are arranged in a garland that much. Flower color is generally orange, yellow or creamy white and fragrant. Michelia champaca yellow flower was known as Jeumpa by the people of Aceh. The oil distilled from the flowers can be used as a perfume base.

Ceumpala Kuneng (Copsychus pyrropygus) is one bird pride of the people of Aceh. The beauty of birds seen from shiny grayish brown color with a characteristic white eyebrows above the eyes, and a black beak shaped slender and sharp. Most chest, back, and belly up to the base of the tail reddish yellow, while the tip of the tail is black with white fringe on the bottom. These birds are grain eaters, live in the forest and hills up to a height of 900 m above sea level.

Ylang flower (Cananga odorata) set as the identity of North Sumatra Province. This plant has scented flowers and fragrant. The oil distilled from the flowers can be used as a perfume. Ylang flower is also used in traditional ceremonies. These plants spread from Burma to northern Australia, growing well until an altitude of 1200 m above sea level. There are two kinds of plants ylang, Cananga odorata macrophylla is a tree-shaped  and Cananga odorata fruticosa shaped as an ornamental shrub.

Beo Nias (Gracula religiosa robusta) is one subspecies of parrots, and it's only found on the Nias Island, North Sumatra. It has a size larger than most other subspecies of parrots. In general, the parrot has feathers in solid black and shiny, round lobes are bright yellow, and the beak was yellow. Beo Nias has a great ear lobe, larger than usual parrots. Under the beak there is also a pair of yellow wattle. His legs are yellow and at the end of the wings are white.
